Your Vote Matters!
Your Vote Matters!
Your vote in the primary decides who represents Frederick County's kids.
Here's what most people don't know: in Frederick County, the Board of Education is a nonpartisan race. That means every registered voter — whether you're Democrat, Republican, or unaffiliated — gets to vote for school board in the primary and the general election. Yet, 75% of Frederick County voters typically skip the primary. Many unaffiliated voters skip the primary because they do not know they can vote in the BOE race.
Three things you can do today:
Check your registration. Visit elections.maryland.gov to confirm that you are registered to vote and your address is current.
If you're unaffiliated, stay unaffiliated — and vote anyway. You can vote for Board of Education in the primary regardless of party.
Make a plan. Early voting, mail-in ballot, or on primary day — pick the one that works for your life, and put it on your calendar.
Then tell a neighbor.
The Maryland primary is Tuesday, June 23, 2026. Early voting runs June 11–18. Voter registration closes June 2.
